March 2015 Ipsy Bag

My Ipsy bag came in yesterday! YAY!!!!! 🙂
I was surprised since I didn’t even receive a shipping notice until 4 hours after I received it. I’m not complaining though. Ipsy has always been consistent (at least in my experience) with their shipping schedule and my bag usually comes on the same day each month. Anyways…here is what I received this month.

The theme for the month is “Floral Fantasy.”  I usually ignore the theme and the card, but it definitely caught my eye this month.  I think the ladies look absolutely beautiful and it definitely gets me excited for spring!  I was a little unsure about the bag at first, but it’s growing on me.  Here’s a little description about the products I received.  I really think Ipsy nailed it this month.

  1. Coolway Glow Oil Hair Treatment:

Ordinary finishing oils are designed to add vibrancy back into hair but often contain sulfates, parabens, alcohol and other ingredients that can make hair dull, dry, and faded.  This product contains none of these harmful components.  It combines a natural and nutrient-rich formula of Vitamin E and Porphyra Seaweed extract to maintain moisture and balance so your hair remains beautiful and shiny throughout the day.

Sounds good to me!  It doesn’t have any obnoxious smell to it which I love.  I will definitely be trying this out tomorrow.  You can apply this on wet or dry hair.  The directions say to apple a dime-sized amount to wet hair starting at the ends and working up.  Then you comb through and style hair as usual.  If you want to use it on dry hair, you apply after blow-drying and again focus on the ends and work up.  The sample is a little small at 10 ml, but the instructions do say you only need a small amount so I should be able to get a few good uses out of it.  I’m really excited to give this a try!!

2. Crown Brush Infinity Shadow/Crease Duet Brush:

This brush has been featured in past bags and I was always a little sad when I didn’t receive it.  Well….I am rejoicing this month!!

The shadow brush is perfect for applying eye shadow or contouring the eye, while the crease brush is designed to be used dry for defining the eye, or wet for precision concealing.  Created with Crown’s Infinity Synthetic Fibers.”

The crease side is a little small for my taste so I think I will use it for precision work and perhaps as a pencil brush.  I think it’s interesting that they suggest using it for precision concealing as I would have never thought to use it that way.  I like that suggestion.  It does feel a little “cheap” to me, but the bristles aren’t scratchy and I love trying out new brushes.

3.  Pixi by Petra Mesmerizing Mineral Duo:

This is the Apricot Glow duo that was made exclusively for ipsy.  I love the colors although they do look really shimmery.  This sample was a little smaller than expected, but I still think I can get some great use out of it.  The colors are perfect for Spring! And…an added bonus…I can try them out using…MY NEW BRUSH!!!!

4.  NYX Cosmetics Butter Lipstick in Hunk:

I am so excited that I received this color.  I was hoping and praying I would!  🙂

“Pamper your lips with a hydrating kiss of smooth Butter Lipstick in 22 luxurious shades.  The delicate texture of satin fused with the high color saturation creates an even finish on lips that’s long-wearing and beautiful.”

5.  skyn Hydro Cool Firming Eye Gels:

I think it’s great that ipsy included two samples of this product.  That will really give me the chance to try it out and see how I really feel.  This is a cooling gel patch that is meant to firm, tone, brighten and reduce the appearance of puffiness and wrinkles within 10 minutes.  I am constantly “suffering” from puffiness and darkness under my eyes thanks to my year round allergies.  I have tried eye patches in the past that have done absolutely nothing for me so I hope these will be different.  Plus, I love that it requires so little time to “achieve results.”  Who doesn’t have 10 minutes to spare?  Each pack contains 1 pair of eye gels

Overall, I really do love my Ipsy bag this month.  I think it contains perfect products for Spring and they are all things I would definitely use.  I usually end up giving away 1 or 2 products that I won’t use every month.  Sorry friends and family!  No free products for you this month.  🙂

What did you receive in your ipsy bag this month?  I’d love to know!
