Review: Wet n Wild Fergie eyeshadow Palette in Milano Collections

I saw this gorgeous palette at my local Walgreens the last time I stopped by.  I love my  neutral eyeshadows and have created my own custom palette.  The only thing is my palette is on the larger side and isn’t easy to travel with.  So when I saw the new Wet n Wild Fergie palette I hoped it would be my perfect solution.

This palette retails for about $8 and contains 10 beautiful warm neutral shades.  There is a mix of shimmer (5) and matte (5) shades.  It also comes with a dual ended brush (one end for crease/blending and the other for the lid).  There was another palette shown (although it was out of stock when I was there) called Paris Runway that has more cool toned shadows.  It looked like it would be perfect to create a more bold and smoky eye look.

Here are the ten Milano Collections palette shades swatched:

You can see how vibrant and pigmented these shades are.  I built the colors up a little just for the swatches, but they really don’t need much help to create a bold swatch.  Aren’t they gorgeous??

The eyeshadows are pretty smooth and aren’t too chalky or powdery.

The brush wasn’t bad, but it was great either.  I could see myself using it when traveling just to avoid bringing brushes.  The crease end worked well, but didn’t make blending seamless.  I had to work a little more to smooth everything out.  I like my crease brushes to be densely packed and that’s why this gave me a little trouble.  The flat end was perfect for packing on color, but wasn’t as soft as I’m used to my brushes being.

This wore beautifully throughout the day. I did use a primer before applying the eyeshadow, but it wasn’t a very good primer so that says a lot about the eyeshadow.

Now for the downside:  I did experience fall out while applying the shadows.  This can be avoided if you tap off excess product before applying.  It made a mess in my sink, but my face was clear so that’s okay!  🙂  You can also apply the shadows wet and that definitely helps prevent fallout.

I also noticed small “clumps of product” falling out of the palette when swiping my brush in the shadow.

The packaging is a little bulky and there isn’t a mirror, but this is just a minor detail.  I never use a mirror attached to a product unless I don’t have a full size mirror around.

Overall, I love this palette.  I have never had a bad experience with Wet n Wild eyeshadows, but am so happy they came out with a neutral palette.  This is a steal at $8 and if you have a coupon that’s even better!
