Review: Nivea In-Shower Body Lotion for Very Dry Skin

Good morning lovelies!

I’ve seen this product advertised quite a bit over the last few months and decided to give it a whirl.

I’ll admit.  The concept seemed really strange to me.  It just didn’t seem like it could possibly work.  Applying body lotion in the shower….. I don’t know.  It just seems like a disaster waiting to happen.  Let’s see what happened.

Around $6 at Target.  Contains 13.5 fl oz or 400 mL.  Come in a squeeze tube bottle with a cap that snaps shut.

In-Shower Nourishing Body Lotion helps revolutionize the daily skincare routine and transforms body care with a different take on moisturizing.

  • Conveniently moisturize your skin in the shower
  • Moisturizes instantly with not sticky feel
  • Leave skin feeling soft, smooth, and moisturized for 24hr+
  • NIVEA In-Shower Body Lotion has received the Good Housekeeping Seal

How it works

The patent pending formula absorbs into wet skin in seconds and provides 24hr+ of moisturization.

This unique skin pampering In-Shower Body Lotion deeply moisturizes the skin.  Its high content of moisturizing ingredients may make surfaces more slippery than other shower products.  Result: Skin is left feeling smooth and moisturized right after the shower.  Dermatologicaly tested.

This is right in between thin and thick.  It’s not too thin but not so thick that it takes forever to work into skin.  As soon as I apply it on my wet skin it feels very slick and slippery.

The instructions say to first use your regular body wash.  After rinsing, apply the lotion onto wet skin while you are still in the shower.  It does stress to avoid applying to the bottom of your feet (for obvious reasons).  Then you rinse off.

The first time I tried this out, I left the product on my skin for awhile to let it fully absorb.  The second time I rinsed if off right away.  Both gave me the same result.  So leaving it on longer didn’t make a difference.

I lightly patted myself dry with a towel after.  I didn’t feel any residue or stickiness left on my skin.

Breakouts/Allergic Reaction:

I did not experience any breakouts or allergic reactions to this product.

Overall Thoughts:

I’m on the fence with this product.  It worked better than I expected.  I have a problem of forgetting to apply lotion after I shower which results in dry skin throughout the day.  So I thought this product would be perfect for me.

Here’s the thing….my skin didn’t necessarily feel moisturized.  It didn’t feel dry…..but not moisturized.  My skin didn’t feel softer or smoother.

Of course, the moisture didn’t last on my hands since I’m constantly washing them throughout the day.

I think this is great for days when you’re in a hurry.  It saves some time.

So, I don’t think it’s a bad product.  But it’s just not for me.  I love the way my skin feels when I apply lotion.  I just have to find a way to remember to actually use it!

If you suggestions…please let me know!!!

This is available in three different formulas.  There is a hydrating lotion for normal to dry skin, a smoothing lotion for dry skin and a nourishing lotion for very dry skin.

Have a beautiful and wonderful day!

xoxo Lizzie♥
