Review: Covergirl’s The Super Sizer by Lashblast Mascara

I have had some bad experiences with Covergirl products in the past.  They just haven’t wowed or impressed me.  I did like one Covergirl mascara (I think it was the original lashblast?) but have had very little success since.  Covergirl has recently come out with a new mascara and I was excited to see how it performed.

Around $7

Available in 3 shades

Brown/Black, Black and Very Black

Also available in a waterproof formula.

The Super Sizer by LashBlast Mascara gives you 400% more corner-to-corner volume for full, fanned out lashes. Our amazing Lash Styler transforms even small lashes— just twirl as you apply it to your lashes for an instantly Super Sized lash look. Opthalmologically tested, suitable for those who wear contact lenses.

Removes easily with soap and water.  Hypoallergenic.

This is a bit of a wet formula.  I have a feeling I will like it a little more once it’s dried out a bit.

This mascara has a “unique lash styler” that is meant to be twirled while you apply.  The wand is very flexible and the bristles are thin and spaced out on the rubber wand.

I did feel the wand made it easy to get every lash.  Because the bristles are so spaced out and are sparse, I didn’t feel they “hugged” or “grabbed” my lashes like I prefer my mascara wands to do.  Because of this, I didn’t get as much length or volume as I would from other mascaras.  This mascara is in very black and it is a nice black pigment.  I’ve always thought Covergirl mascaras were a little lacking in the rich black shade.  I’ve found other mascaras that are more black.

I curled my lashes prior to applying mascara and felt that the mascara did pull my lashes down a bit.  Again, perhaps when the formula dries out a little more this will no longer be an issue.

It did add length, but not as much volume.

I actually had a difficult time working with the wand because it is so flexible.  The flexibility does help in coating every lash, particularly the outside lashes on the corner of the eye.

I applied two coats and didn’t experience any clumping.

This mascara removed quite easily at the end of the day.

Allergic Reactions:

I did not experience any reactions from this product.

Overall Thoughts:

While this mascara wasn’t bad, it’s not something I would purchase again.  I prefer darker black formulas and I just didn’t get as much volume and length as I would have liked.  I also didn’t feel the wand was anything spectacular.

For now I will use this to separate my lashes and layer a more volumizing mascara on top.

Have you tried this product out?  Let me know your thoughts!  I’d love to hear them!

Have a beautiful and wonderful day!

xoxo Lizzie♥

Have you ever tried Younique’s 3D fiber mascara? It is gel and fibers (apply gel, fibers, gel) and it gives you that look of false lashes, but its naturally based and has actually made my lashes curl (without a curler check out my video!) Only $29 which last 3+ months and includes a fab case!

    1. I’ve never heard of that before. Sounds fantastic though!! 🙂

    1. I haven’t had much success with covergirl products either. I’ve had a hard time finding a great drugstore mascara!!

      1. Me too. I’ve had such a hard time that I gave up. I now just pay the money and stick to my beloved Dior Blackout and Guerlain Maxi Lash. The one drugstore mascara that I didn’t mind was Rimmel Lash Accelerator. Not bad at all….

      2. I’ve heard really good things about that Dior mascara. Maybe I’ll check that one out next.
