Today I am reviewing a new NYX product!
$5.99 for 0.1 oz of product
A serious solution for one of beauty’s most challenging problems! No fancy names, just a product that can be counted on to do the job. The NYX product glides on without looking thick or obvious. Coconut oil provides intensive moisture and ensures no caking. The subtle hint of orange counteracts the appearance of dark circles, while natural skin toned pigments work in unison to provide the ultimate coverage.
This is available in 4 shades: fair, light, medium and deep.
There was only one shade available at my local drugstore. I purchased the shade light which may be a tad too light for me. This has a very smooth and creamy consistency and is easy to work with. I didn’t think it was too thick, but I am used to working with thicker formulas. It was actually more sheer than I had anticipated. I applied this with my fingers to help warm up the product and it went on very smoothly.
I set this with powder, but definitely noticed creasing throughout the day. It was easy to fix, but just annoying to do so. It did stay on throughout the day though.
Breakouts or Irritation:
This didn’t irritate my skin at all.
This isn’t a bad product. Because of my allergies I do suffer from darkness under my eyes. I always use a corrector before applying my foundation. So I loved the idea of combining two products in one. I think if you have very little darkness or are just looking for some added brightness, this will work well for you. If you have pretty dark circles this product may disappoint. It just wasn’t as pigmented as I wanted it to be. It did an excellent job of brightening and I found that applying this after my foundation worked well for that.
When I applied it under my foundation it didn’t do much of anything. If anything, it may have made my darkness more apparent. I had someone mention that I looked more tired than normal (and I had a great nights sleep!)
I do own the Pixi correction concentrate in brightening peach and feel that it works better for me than this product.
I am thinking of trying it again in the shade medium and see if that works any better for me. If it does, I will definitely update you.
I would love to hear your thoughts on this product if you’ve tried it!
Have a beautiful day!
