Review: NYC Smooth Skin BB Creme Instant Matte and Bronzed Radiance

Good morning lovelies.

Happy Sunday!  I hope you are all enjoying your day!

Today I bring you a review on some NYC products!

Let’s start with the smooth skin bb creme 5 in 1 instant matte skin perfector.

$3.99 for 1 fl oz.

Smooth Skin BB Crème Instant Matte is the perfect product to give you shine free, beautiful skin with zero fuss!
New York City life can get crazy. When you work hard and play hard that means there’s not much time left over to think about your skin. Say Goodbye to shine and hello to a perfectly flawless finish by minimizing the appearance of skin’s imperfections. Your complexion will look naturally beautiful AND instantly matte even after a late night in a NYC club.
This is said to provide 5 different actions in 1 step:
  1. Provides instant mattifying coverage
  2. Minimizes the appearance of pores & lines
  3. Beautifies, smooths skin
  4. Minimizes the appearance of skin imperfections
  5. Brightens skin tone for a healthy, flawless complexion

Unfortunately, this is only available in 2 shades: light and medium.

I picked this up in the shade 02 medium.  This was thicker than the Rimmel matte bb cream.  It did go on smoothly and blended in easily.  It wasn’t a flat matte finish.  It gave more of a demi matte, natural finish.  This was a better color match than the Rimmel bb cream.  It gave me a light coverage.  The one thing that bothered me was that it never seemed to set into my skin.  It maintained a tackiness.  I did set it with powder and still felt that it remained tacky.  It did settle into my fine lines a bit, but not as bad as the Rimmel bb cream.  As far as claims go, I do feel they are accurate (minus the instant mattifying coverage).  It did even and brighten my skin.  It didn’t accentuate any pores, but did bring out my fine lines a little.  When I paired this with a primer, it did much better.
Lasting Power:
This held up around 4-5 hours without a primer and a few hours more with one.  I did get pretty oily with this and had to blot more than normal.
This did not cause any breakouts or allergic reactions.
Overall Thoughts:
I think this is an okay bb cream.  I think I will continue using it as a base for foundation, but not alone.
Let’s move on to the bronzed radiance skin perfector.

Price: $3.99 for 1 fl oz

City summer skin never looked so good!
Smooth Skin BB Crème Bronzed Radiance is the ultimate bronzing product. You know how it is, even when you’re in town, you still want that prettifying, sun-kissed glow that makes everyone look better. We’re not talking a full-on deep tan, just a ‘fresh back from the Hamptons’ look that makes you feel summery and beachy…..even as you’re walking down Broadway.
Available in 2 shades: light & medium
This is a super pigmented product.  It was much much darker than I had anticipated!

The first time I applied this all over my face and that was a mistake.  I looked like I had just spent a whole day at the beach.  My face was tan and my body pale in comparison!  🙂

The site recommends squeezing a small amount and applying a few dots to your forehead, nose, cheeks, and chin and pat into skin.

This gave me a really pretty glow.  I also tried adding a little bit to my bb creme and that works well too.  It tamed the darkness of the color while still giving me a little bit of an added glow.

Overall Thoughts:

Both products were good, but I wasn’t wowed by them.  I do like the bronzed radiance a little more than the bb cream, but probably won’t reach for it a whole lot.  I think I’m going to exchange the shade I bought for the lighter shade.  Maybe that would work out a little better.

If you’ve tried these products out, let me know your thoughts!

Have a beautiful day!

xoxo Lizzie♥

I think I had a NYC pressed face powder a long time ago. It worked fine (I likely dumped it when I felt it was too old, this was some time ago now). Also, I nominated you for the creative blogger award. Its just for fun and optional to do if you are in the mood to participate. My post explaining it is here:

    1. Thank you for nominating me. 🙂 I will go check that out! Hope you are having a fantastic day 🙂
