Review: L’Oreal La Palette Nude 2

Good morning everyone!

Today’s review is on a much talked about product.

I have heard so many people rave about this palette!  I first saw this at my local drugstore a while ago and thought, “$20?  Are you mad?  There’s no way I’m going to pay that much for a drugstore eyeshadow palette!.”

Well…I can now eat my own words.  I was highly encouraged to try it out and so I caved.

Price:

$20 at my local CVS

Of course, it will be less expensive at Target or Walmart.

There are two palettes available: Nude 1 and Nude 2

Description:

Inspired by makeup designers ‘Must Have’ palettes, the La Palette Nude offers everything you need to master the art of nude eyeshadow. Makeup Designer Nude looks curated exclusively for each palette with step by step instructions and live tutorials. 10 highly pigmented shades range from light to dark to flatter every skin tone in 3 shadow finishes: shimmery satin, buttery matte & lustrous sheen.

Eye-designer brush & mirror for effortless application

  Texture:

Most of the shades are very smooth.  There were a few that were powdery, but nothing terrible.

Application:

Oh my word!  AMAZING!  They are pretty pigmented and go on so easily.  They also blend amazingly well and I had very little fallout (except for the more powdery shades).  All the colors go so well together and can be used for both natural and smokey looks.

Brush:

This comes with a dual ended brush.  One end has a sponge tip applicator and the other has a little rounded brush.  I prefer to use my own brushes, but the quality of the brush in this palette isn’t terrible.  It’s just a personal preference.

Wear Time:

I always use primer with my eyeshadow, but with some shadow I have, I still experience creasing and/or fading.

The shadows in this palette stayed very well on my lids and I noticed minimal creasing.  The longest I wore them was 12-13 hours and by the end of the night, my eye look was still on par.

Overall Thoughts:

I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE this palette!  When I was in the store I gravitated toward the Nude 1 palette, but I already own a bunch of palettes with similar shades.  (That palette by the way contains more warm, bronzy type shades).

This is a palette I wouldn’t ordinarily purchase.  I love my warm, bronze, brown shades and tend to stick with what I know.

But I am so glad I purchased this.  The purples are absolutely gorgeous and very easy to wear.  Nothing is too bold or out there and I love how all of the colors pair so well together.

You can also see from the swatches how amazing the pigmentation is.

Even though I was a little hesitant to shell out $20 for a drugstore palette, I would do it again and again if it is anything like this palette!

I may purchase a back up just in case L’Oreal has the audacity to pull this from their collection (Please don’t ever do it!)

This product definitely gets an A+ in my makeup book!
