Review: Adovia Dead Sea Salt Scrub

I was recently given the opportunity to try out a product. I love using scrubs to not only exfoliate my skin, but as part of my “spa rituals” at home!

I was super excited to try out this Dead Sea salt scrub (say that five times fast!) from Adovia.

This scrub is meant to be moisturizing and contains both natural oils as well as mineral salt from the Dead Sea. This scrub is made in Israel.

Here are the claims:

  • Gentle and reviving
  • Relaxing
  • 100% pure
  • Contains 21 minerals
  • Exfoliating
  • Moisturizing
  • Made from Dead Sea mud and Dead Sea salt
  • 100% cruelty free and never tested on animals

The first thing I noticed about this product was its’ beautiful blue color. It instantly made me feel a little more relaxed.

This particular scrub is scented as “Ocean Breeze.” Now, you guys know I am extremely sensitive to added fragrances and this was no exception. I’m sure for most people they wouldn’t mind the scent at all. But, with my sensitive nose, it made my allergies go nuts. I would love it if Adovia came out with a non-scented version of this!

But I could see this scent being very relaxing to most people.

I chose to use this in the bath and used it on my arms and legs. I would be VERY careful with the product though. It can get messy and there is a lot of oil so I made sure there wasn’t anything left on the tub floor that could make me slip.

I loved how it exfoliated my skin and left it feeling very soft without drying it out.

The only problem was the scent. Since I used it on my arms and legs, I smelled it all night. The next time I used this, I choose to use it only on my feet. And that was much, much better.

I also ended up added additional salt to this product to make it less oily and so it wouldn’t be quite as messy.

I have been using this one to two times a week and I really do like it. My only suggestion again, would be to make a non-scented version.
