Review: Wet n Wild Velvet Matte Lip Color Crayon

Good morning beauties!

I was recently shopping at Walgreens and decided to try out a few Wet n Wild products.

Today’s review will be on their velvet matte lip color crayons.

Price:

$3.49 (I found them on sale for $2.49 at my local Walgreens)

Available in 9 different colors.

I purchased Fashion Darling and Plumgenue

Details:

This is a lip crayon that swivels up.  It is a velvet matte finish.  I like that the crayon is skinnier than your typical lip crayon so it’s easier to get a precise application.

Scent:

This has a horrible HORRIBLE chemical scent.  😦

Pigmentation:

Upon first application this is very sheer.  You can build up the color slightly.  The color looks beautifully natural.

Performance:

This felt very lightweight and weren’t drying.  It’s not your typical matte (which is where the velvet comes in).  I like that it is mostly matte with just the slightest sheen.

This is where the pros end.  I tried to make it last as long as I possibly could!  🙂

Both of my lip crayons snapped at the base and fell out of the container.  I’ve actually heard quite a few people complain about this so it’s not just me.  This prevented me from being able to swivel the product up and down easily.

The chemical smell lingered so I really couldn’t bear to keep this on my lips for very long.  It is just terrible!

Overall Thoughts:

The colors are absolutely beautiful, but there are just way too many cons to make this worth it for me.

Have a beautiful and wonderful day!

xoxo Lizzie♥
