Review: Shea Moisture Superfruit Complex 10 in 1 Shampoo

I was at Target the other day and saw this brand new display of Shea Moisture products.  I haven’t heard much about this brand and was curious.  I decided to pick up the travel size of their superfruit complex shampoo and see how it worked.

Price:

$10.99 for 13 fl oz/384ml

$3.99 for travel size 3.4 fl. oz/94ml

Scent:

This has a mild fruity scent.

Performance:

The directions say to apply to wet hair and gently massage into a rich lather.  Then rinse thoroughly.

This shampoo didn’t lather much, but I wasn’t expecting it to.  I focused the product on my scalp and gently massaged it in.  Then I rinsed everything out.

Here’s the thing.  When I went to blow-dry my hair, it felt like there was a build up of product on my scalp.  This didn’t make sense since I had really thoroughly rinsed my hair.  So I hopped back in the shower and really scrubbed my scalp to get the product out.  Even after all that it still felt like there was a build-up of product just on my scalp (where I had focused the product).

Overall Thoughts:

I really wanted to love this shampoo.  It has amazing ingredients and qualities.  But I definitely can’t work with hair that looks greasy after I just washed it.  This shampoo does claim to avoid the build-up of product so I’m wondering if it’s just that the product I picked up was faulty or I’m doing something wrong.

If anyone has had success with this shampoo, please please please share your tips!  I haven’t given up on it yet!

Have a beautiful and wonderful day!

xoxo Lizzie♥
