Review: Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick in Amore

So I haven’t tried many products from Stila.  I think I’ve only tried out one other product.

I decided enough was enough.  It was time to expand my horizons.

So…..I purchased this Stay All Day liquid lipstick!

Available in 15 different shades at Sephora.

What it is:
A highly-pigmented, liquid lipstick that’s weightless on the lips and delivers long-lasting coverage.

What it does:
This creamy, full-coverage lip color provides intense hydration with bold, long-lasting pigment that stays put for up to six hours of continuous wear. Featuring an array of matte and shimmer shades, this lip formula imparts a comfortable texture that feels lightweight on lips, and its color-rich formula does not bleed or transfer. Enriched with vitamin E and avocado oil, Stay All Day® Liquid Lipstick hydrates and softens lips so they look and feel beautiful.

What it is formulated WITHOUT:
– Parabens
– Sulfates
– Phthalates

What else you need to know:
This product is free of synthetic dyes, petrochemicals, GMOs, and triclosan.

There are so many beautiful colors to choose from.  It was hard deciding on just one color!

Amore is described as a deep plum sheen.

It was more sheer than I was anticipating.  One layer of color gave me just a light touch of color.  I applied 2-3 layers to build the color up more.

You do need to be careful and wipe off some of the product from the wand.  Otherwise you will apply way too much at once!

I built the color up quite a bit to get this swatch.

I wasn’t crazy about the scent of this lipstick.  It has a chemical/paint like scent.  Thankfully, it doesn’t linger.

A few minutes after applying the product became tacky on my lips.

I noticed my lips feeling pretty dry after two hours of wear and needed to apply a balm.

About an hour later the product had faded quite and bit and was looking patchy.  I applied a little more product and added a gloss on top of that.

By the end of the day I was dying to remove the product from my lips!

This claims to give intense hydration, but I didn’t experience that at all!  It was very uncomfortable and it left my lips feeling dry for the next few days.

I would definitely suggest applying a balm first and not to apply this product on dry lips!

I love the color selection, but I just can’t use this product.  Oh well!

I have recently tried out two more shades in deluxe sample form.

(left-Bella   Right-Beso)

I noticed these two shades were must less drying on my lips than “Amore.”  They also lasted much longer and I only needed to touch up once during the day.

They are definitely opaque and only needed one swipe to get a bold color (unlike “Amore”).

The wand still had too much product on it and I needed to remove some before applying on my lips.

But overall, these two shades have definitely changed my opinion of the Stila liquid lipstick!!

Wishing you a beautiful and wonderful day!

xoxo Lizzie♥

I’m glad to hear that you like the deluxe ones! I have Bella and I just felt like it was really uncomfortable to wear. I have really dry lips though. 😛

    1. I exfoliate my lips and moisturize really well before applying them. It definitely helps me. I definitely avoid stains and matte finishes when my lips are super dry though. Drying lip product + dry lips = big discomfort!

Yeah that’s true! I just have terrible luck with matte finishes lol. My Elf Exfoliator is pretty much out. That’s what I use but I want to try the Lush one. 🙂

      2. I’ve heard great things about the Lush exfoliator. And they have so many different options.
