Review: Lavanila The Healthy Deodorant

Today’s review is going to be on something a little different.  I went back and forth wondering if I should even review it, but I figured it is a beauty item and some may be interested.

My skin is very sensitive and a lot of skin care and beauty products cause irritation.  This includes deodorant and antiperspirants.

I tried making my own deodorant (which is becoming more and more popular) but that really irritated my skin.

While walking around Sephora a few weeks ago, I stumbled upon this deodorant by Lavanila.  I never would have guessed Sephora carried deodorant!  I was intrigued and purchased it!

$8 for this 0.9 oz. travel size.

$14 for the full size 1.7 oz.

This is available in a few different vanilla scents:

  • Pure Vanilla
  • Vanilla Grapefruit
  • Vanilla Lavender
  • Fresh Vanilla Lemon

They also make one for sensitive skin that is fragrance free.

What it is:
An award-winning, aluminum-free deodorant that is 100 percent natural, safe, and effective.

What it does:
Finally, a natural deodorant that works. Get superior odor protection with this 100 percent natural, freshly scented deodorant. Soothing essential oils blend with beta-glucan technology fight odor effectively while soothing, conditioning, and nourishing the delicate underarm area. It goes on clean, with no sticky wetness, and delivers long-lasting, luxurious results.

What it is formulated WITHOUT:
– Parabens

What else you need to know:
This product is clinically tested, dermatologist-recommended, non-irritating, allergy-tested and does not contain aluminum or mineral oils.

This is a solid stick deodorant that you twist up just like a traditional deodorant.  The cap twists off which I like because it’s more secure.

This has a very strong vanilla scent.  I found it to be more of a masculine vanilla (if that even exists) than a sweet vanilla (which is what I was expecting).  I found it to be slightly overwhelming and applied a little less than I normally would have.

I think next time I will purchase the fragrance free version.

This did glide on nicely and didn’t crumble.

I didn’t notice any transfer of product onto my clothing.

I think this did exactly what it’s supposed to.  It kept me smelling fresh all day and it felt very comfortable.

Keep in mind, this is a deodorant – not an antiperspirant.  It won’t keep you dry or prevent you from sweating.  It will just mask odor.

Overall Thoughts:

I love that this is aluminum free and uses all natural ingredients.  My only complaint is the price.  It is definitely pricier than your average drugstore deodorant.  The full size is $14 which could easily get me 3 deodorants from Target.

But, on the other hand, this does not contain chemicals and a lot of the other junk companies put in their products.  I’ve been searching for other all natural deodorants and would love to hear your suggestions if you have any!

Have a beautiful and wonderful day!

xoxo Lizzie♥
