Good morning lovelies!
L’oreal has come out with some new beauty products!!! YAY!!!!
Now…I’ll be 100% honest. I have never been a huge fan of L’oreal products. They always had a strong floral fragrance added to them and I didn’t think they were worth my money.
Well….lately….they have been KILLING it!! I have been impressed with every product I have tried recently.
So does the success streak carry on???
Let’s start with the Powder Glow Illuminator.
L’oreal came out with three different shades in this illuminating powder.
- W 102 Golden (for warm tones)
- N 202 Rose (for neutral tones)
- C 302 Ice (for cool tones)
I picked up W 102 Golden.
The ultimate in luminosity. L’Oréal Paris introduces its first powder highlighter specifically crafted to highlight key features or illuminate all-over. Designed in Golden, Rose, and Ice shades that flatter every skintone from warm to neutral to cool. Golden Illuminator enhances peachy or yellow tones in warm skintones. Rose Illuminator enhances yellow, peachy, pink or blue tones in neutral skintones. Ice Illuminator enhances pink or blue tones in cool skintones.
Can we take a second to admire the gorgeous rose gold packaging??? I love it!
Each palette contains four different shades. The great thing is you can use the shades separately or mix them together.
L’oreal also includes a flat brush and a nice sized mirror. The brush isn’t anything special and I choose not to use it.
Here are the shades swatched. I went from the very left shade in the palette and then went clockwise.
This is a swatch of all the shades swirled and mixed together. It creates a gorgeous color!
Okay so let’s talk about how this worked for me. I love the shades separately as well as combining them together.
The instructions on the packaging say you can apply this all over your face or use simply as a highlighter.
I would advise you stay away from applying this all over your face unless you want to look like Edward Cullen. (Hey….maybe this could be great for Halloween??)
Anyways…it is VERY glittery. I made the mistake of applying a little too much and ended up with glitter all over the place (and looked like a disco ball too). You need to use a very light hand with this product.
There is one other thing to be cautious of. Highlighters can emphasize pores, acne and uneven skin tone. Because this is so sparkly, it definitely attracts attention to these areas. You have to apply very carefully to avoid bringing attention to things you actually want to conceal.
Overall, I’m not too impressed with this highlighter. I think I will save it for special occasions, but it is a little too much for me to wear on an everyday basis.
Next is the Liquid Glow Illuminator
Again, these are available in three shades:
- W 101 Golden
- N 201 Rose
- C 301 Ice
I again purchased W 101 Golden.
Comes in a squeeze tube.

*SIGH* L’oreal captures my heart (and money) with this beautiful packaging!
Again, L’oreal states you can use this all over your face or just as a highlighter. In this case, it worked well both ways. You can apply it before or after your foundation or you can even mix it in with your foundation. The latter was my favorite method.
It creates this beautiful, yet subtle, glow to the skin that is perfect for summer!
This has a great consistency. It isn’t too thin and liquid-y but isn’t too thick or difficult to blend.
Now, this does dry quickly. So if you are going to use it over your foundation, work quickly!
If you use it over foundation it will still look glitter-y, but if you mix it in with foundation or use it as a primer, it subdues the metallic finish and translates to more of a glow.
Have you tried these two products out? Did they work for you?
Wishing you a beautiful and wonderful day!
