Good morning beautiful ladies!
The other day at the store I spotted some new Maybelline lippies! I have always loved Maybelline and I have a slight lip product obsession so I was VERY excited!
Available in 10 different shades.
I picked up three.
Maybelline’s Lip Studio Color Blur redefines the rules of color with a cream matte pencil and blurring smudger. The cream matte pencil feels extremely smooth and comfortable on lips, while the blurring smudger creates your own looks from full-on bold to softly blurred. Color Blur comes in 10 shades ranging from vivids to neutrals.

These are retractable and don’t need to be sharpened.
These are similar to the Loreal pencils in that they are a slim twist up lip product. It does not come a sharpener.
The product applied very smoothly and it has excellent pigmentation.
Because this is a matte finish, I would highly recommend exfoliating your lips prior to application. The product will cling to dry spots and will make for an uneven finish.
This had a much better wear time than the L’oreal La Matte and Le Lacque pencils. I was able to get about 4-5 hours of wear before I needed to re-apply.
They also left a nice stain so they didn’t fade unevenly or look patchy at all!
I couldn’t detect an added fragrance. They just smelled like a typical lipstick.
I really wanted to love this product! They were much better (in my opinion) than the L’oreal lip pencils. The color was very pigmented and rich and went on very easily.
The biggest downfall for me was the dryness. Around hour 3 of wearing this, I could definitely feel the moisture being sucked out of my lips. I applied a balm and that helped. But when I removed the product at the end of the day, my lips hurt a little bit. It took me a few days to bring them back to normal. My lips aren’t usually dry so I know this was brought on by the product.
I would recommend applying a moisturizing balm before applying to help protect your lips.
I do wish this came with a sharpener so I could get that nice point. I love using this as a liner first as then filling in my lips.
All in all, I do love this product and am thinking of purchasing additional shades.
Have you tried them out? Let me know your thoughts! I’d love to know what you think!
Have a beautiful and wonderful day!
