Review: Coola Classic Sunscreen Cucumber Moisturizer with SPF 30

Good morning!

Today’s review is on a product I received in my June Birchbox.  I will leave a link in case you’re interested in reading that post. June Birchbox

Consistency:

This is a thinner lotion.

Scent:

It has a subtle cucumber scent.  Normally, I am very sensitive to fragrances, but this is very refreshing and soothing.  It does linger so keep that in mind.

Application:

This was very easy to apply.  It blended in very easily.  I applied this over my regular moisturizer and let it set in before I applied my makeup. It did not negatively affect the way my makeup sat on my skin nor did it make me more oily/greasy/shiny throughout the day.

Overall Thoughts:

I really wish this had a higher SPF.  I know why they leave it a little lower.  A lot of products with a higher SPF leave a grey tint or mess with the coloring of your foundation.  I have luckily found a sunscreen with an SPF of 50 that doesn’t do any of that.  So maybe I’m a little spoiled.

I didn’t love nor hate this product.  It is definitely non-greasy and I love that it is made with natural ingredients.  But I just don’t see myself shelling out $32 for it.

Coola Face Moisturizing Sunscreen 1.7 oz

I found out Coola also makes the same product with a matte finish.  That costs a little more at $36.  Here is the description on that one in case you are interested:

The updated, eco-friendly formula is made with 70 percent organic ingredients and protects from both the UVA rays that lead to premature aging and the UVB rays that cause painful burns. Great for all skin types—especially those with breakout-prone and hyper-sensitive complexions—the transparent cream dries to a flattering matte finish, doubles as a primer, and won’t leave behind a chalky white residue. The refreshing cucumber scent gives us yet another reason to love it.

Have a beautiful and wonderful day.

xoxo Lizzie♥
