I recently received a sample of the new Urban Decay matte revolution lipstick.
You guys know I’m a huge lipstick fan so I love trying out new lip products!!!
I haven’t tried many Urban Decay lip products. I’ve mostly tried out their eye products.
$22 for .09 oz
Available in 9 different shades at Sephora.
Two additional shades are available exclusively on Urbandecay.com and Urban Decay stores.
What it is:
A super-creamy, non-drying matte lipstick in an array of intensely-pigmented shades.
What it does:
Urban Decay’s creamy, non-drying Matte Revolution Lipstick is as rich and buttery as the original formula. With a range of never-before-seen shades—from neutrals to brights to deep-dark colors—lips get bold color with a matte finish and velvety feel.
Matte Revolution Lipstick is enriched by Urban Decay’s proprietary Pigment Infusion System, giving it an ultra-creamy texture, high-pigmentation, and optimum color pay off. Shea butter and a nourishing blend of avocado, olive, and babassu oils deeply condition lips while illipe butter—sourced from Malaysian illipe trees—provides long-lasting hydration. Lastly, vitamin C and E deliver a dose of antioxidants to lips.
The fact that Urban Decay says this is creamy and non-drying got me really excited. They said it would glide on without dragging or skipping and one swipe would give amazing and opaque color.
I’m excited to say….this is 100% accurate!!
The formula is amazing! It is so smooth and one layer gave a bold color.
Of course, this means it is a little heavier on the lips. It also means there’s a good chance it will bleed so I highly recommend using a liner.
The staying power is pretty impressive too (at least with this shade).
I was able to get around 6 hours of wear before I noticed any breakdown. It also left a beautiful flush of color behind so I didn’t really feel I needed to re-apply.
There is no added scent which is wonderful news for those with
I am really in love with this formulation! Finally! A matte lipstick that is this creamy and super comfortable to wear!
I will definitely be purchasing more shades!! I’m already looking at “matte after dark”, “matte menace” and “matte bittersweet.”
