Elf Studio Mineral Lipstick

I don’t know about you, but I love elf products!!!

Reason #1…. They are very affordable! I love that I can purchase multiple items without feeling guilty about spending a large sum of money.

Reason #2… A lot of their products are great quality!

I purchased mostly lip products because they were having an awesome deal of them!!!

Today’s review will be on the elf studio mineral lipsticks I picked up.

Price:

$5

Available in 10 shades

I purchased three colors: Barely Bitten, Ripe Rose, and Rich Raspberry.

Description:

Now you can hydrate your lips and get a lasting soft color naturally! This nourishing blend of exotic oils, natural waxes, vitamins and plant extracts create the perfect moisturizing formula. The sleek lipstick has superior color payoff, glides easily onto lips, and is long wearing. Lips stay perfectly hydrated and soft throughout the day for no fuss, lip loving happiness. All our mineral makeup are mineral based with no parabens, no preservatives and no chemical dyes.

Right off the bat, I dislike the scent. It has a plastic-like scent that drives me crazy!

Another thing that you may dislike is the packaging. It has a squared container rather than a round one. So housing them in a lipstick holder may not be possible because of the shape.

I will note that the packaging does feel a little “cheap” to me, but the lid is amazing. It attaches very well and I wouldn’t worry about it coming off and making a mess in my purse!

They have a sheer color pay off that is somewhat buildable. I personally would have preferred them to be a little more pigmented. Once I build the color up I am able to get a very natural flush of color on my lips.

(Barely Bitten- I built the color up to get the most pigment I could)

Because they are more sheer they don’t have the greatest wear time. I can maybe get up to 3 hours before I need to re-apply.

(Ripe Rose)

I didn’t find them that hydrating either. They definitely weren’t drying, but not moisturizing either.

(Rich Raspberry)

I actually think this is perfect in the warmer months when you don’t want something heavy on your lips, and don’t want to worry about your lipstick smudging or running.

I am able to apply them without the use of a mirror and because it is more sheer, it still looks great.

All in all, these aren’t my favorite elf lip product.

Don’t get me wrong…they aren’t bad…..just not my favorite.

I will say, all the shades in this line are very natural and wearable so I don’t think you can go wrong color wise with any of them.

Have you tried these out?  Let me know!

Have a beautiful and wonderful day everyone!

xoxo Lizzie♥

My favorite’s Barely Bitten! I would have expected these to be at least a little more pigmented though.
By the way, are these lipsticks made in China?

    1. Barely bitten is definitely a beautiful shade! I was thinking they would be slightly more pigmented too, but at least you can build them up.

Most of their products are made but not sold in China.
