Tarte Tarteist Contour Palette

Tarte has been one of my favorite high end brands for many years now.

They include amazing ingredients in their products and they are safe on my sensitive skin.

So anytime I find out they are releasing a new product I cannot wait to get my hands on it!

I actually saw a few beauty influencers get this contour palette as an early release and was instantly drawn into the packaging!

Comes with 6 different shades:

  •  Highlight (matte highlighter)
  • Correct (yellow correcting powder)
  • Contour – soft (for light-to-medium skin tones)
  • Contour – deep (for medium-to-dark skin tones)
  • Accentuate (rosy blush)
  • Glow (shimmer highlighter)

It also comes with a step by step guide which is nice (especially for those who are new to the art of contouring.)

This palette comes with a good sized mirror which is awesome!

The first thing I will say is I like the concept of including a highlighter, contour and color corrector all in one palette.  But I feel it can be better in theory sometimes.  I tend to get a little picky with colors and find that the highlight shades just don’t cut it for me.  I have a medium skin tone and didn’t find them as pigmented on my skin as I’d like.  They are extremely subtle.

I also noticed that the highlight shades were not as smooth and buttery as the contour shades. They were slightly more powdery which is an instant turn off for me.

The contour shades are fantastic and super pigmented though.  You definitely want to use a light hand with them as it is very easy to pick up too much product.
They are smooth and really easy to blend out!

The blush shade is really beautiful. It is a softer pink which I think is more universally flattering.

All of the powders are pretty finely milled which is nice.

I definitely recommend this to the makeup newbie who could really benefit from the “paint by color” step by step walk through provided with this palette.  It truly simplifies things and makes it less confusing and scary.

As I said before, I will definitely be using the contour powders, but not so much anything else.

Have you guys tried this out?  What are your thoughts?

Have a beautiful and wonderful day!

xoxo Lizzie♥
