Maybelline Lip Gloss Palette

Good morning everyone!

I hope you are all having an amazing day so far!

Today I will be reviewing a new-ish product from Maybelline.

Maybelline has been one of my favorite drugstore brands for a really long time.  I didn’t even know they were coming out with a lip gloss palette.

I didn’t even know lip gloss palettes were a thing.  This was the first I’ve seen of them.

I purchased this at Ulta for $11.99.

One thing I will say is how shocked I am about the rising of drugstore pricing.  I remember Maybelline always being less than $7/8.

What happened?

Anyways…this palette comes with 8 different lip gloss shades as well as a lip gloss applicator.

You can use the glosses on their own or can even mix them to create a customized color.

The brush that is included is pretty good.  I don’t have anything bad to say about it.

I noticed most of the glosses were pretty sheer with the exception of the darker shades.

As you can see in the swatches most of the shades look identical on my lips which I found disappointing.

The actual formula is nice and wasn’t too sticky or drying.

I didn’t notice a scent or taste which was nice.

They lasted about 3 hours on my lips.

The whole concept of a lip gloss palette seems great (especially for traveling), but is actually really messy.  I found myself wanting to reach for a lip gloss tube instead.

I don’t think it’s a bad concept, it’s just not for me.

What are your thoughts on this product?

Wishing you a beautiful and wonderful day!

xoxo Lizzie♥

  1. Well, as you said, some of the colours on the lips look similar and moreover, If the palette becomes messy, then it’s quite hard to handle. Great honest review! Happy #FriYay

  3. Thank you for sharing a review! I also think that it’s not a good idea to sell such kind of palettes for lips. The main reason is that usually all of the colors look different in packaging but on lips they look almost similar. And other reason why I don’t understand such palettes is their format: usually nobody takes such palettes with them to the job or university because they are huge and it’s not comfortable to cover your lips. I’d rather buy just a usual lipstick or lip gloss, even during journey it would be more useful.

    1. I absolutely agree! It could be great for traveling but I found it incredibly messy and not as versatile as I would like. As you said, I would rather have a lipstick and gloss and just use those.

I wanted to get the Matte palette.. But I am not a huge fan of lip palettes especially when I have to use the lip brush a lot.. (Too lazy for lipbrushes..lol) but def. great for travelling! 👍🏻

    1. I’m the same way! I hated washing the lip brush! I don’t have to worry about that with lipsticks and glosses! ha ha
