Skinn Cosmetics Sugar Lips Polishing Scrub

With the current trend of liquid lipsticks and matte finishes, it’s essential to keep your lips smooth and moisturized!

I use a lip scrub much more than I ever have.  I try not to use them TOO often, but I think they make a world of difference.

I received a lip scrub in my December Ipsy bag from the brand Skinn Cosmetics and will be reviewing it for you today!

Price:

$20

Available in 2 flavors:

  • Original
  • Strawberry Daiquiri

Description:

Give your pout a little polish! Your dry lips and laugh lines deserve a little massage—so exfoliate them daily with this indulgent scrub. Made with real sugar and a special butter blend, flaky, chapped lips and fine lines will soon become kissably soft and smooth.

My sample was in the original flavor but I kind of wish it was the strawberry daiquiri.  Doesn’t that sound delicious?

I’ve personally never heard of using a polishing scrub on laugh lines!  That really caught me off guard.

I love that this scrub is made with real sugar and a special butter.

I need for my lip scrubs to be moisturizing and gentle on my sensitive lips.

First of all, I really liked the scent.  It was subtle but pleasant.

Immediately after putting this on my lips I felt a burning/tingling sensation.  It freaked me out a bit!!  Once I removed it, the sensation subsided, but it left my lips and surrounding skin really really dry.

I always apply a moisturizing lip treatment after exfoliating, but no other product has ever made my lips burn or left them so dry.

So final thoughts?

Uh…I don’t think this product is for me.

I normally make my own lip scrub so I’m not sure it’s something I would want to spend $20 on, but I really am glad I had the opportunity to try it out.

What do you guys think?

Have a beautiful and wonderful day!

xoxo Lizzie♥

I love the Lush lip scrub but when I tried this I was actually impressed. Got this from my Ipsy Glambag too!👍🏻

    1. Did you have the burning sensation from it too? I’m just curious if maybe I had an allergic reaction to it.

I don’t think so. but, the only downside I would say is that it melted (I guess because of the mist in our bathroom) unlike Lush that you can still feel the sugar “granules” on your lips. Now I’m curious about the burning sensation. I will get back to you on that! LOL

It’s amazing! I love the Bubble Gum and Popcorn scrub.. Im very picky with what I put on my lips as I’ve had a bad allergic reaction before that I couldn’t put any lip products on for over a year..but Lush was one of the good stuff that didn’t irritate my lips.. 👍🏻
