Loreal Infallible Pro Matte Gloss

I have completely fallen in love with Loreal’s Infallible line!

One of my dearest friends has raved about Loreal’s infallible line for years and I always brushed it off.

Loreal and I did not get along for a LONG time, but I am happy to report that this is no longer true!

I have been converted and am now an infallible fan!

Loreal recently re-released their pro matte gloss’s and I purchased just one (I tried to be good!!)

Price:

$9.99

Available in 10 shades.

I purchased mine in the shade “Rouge Envy.”

Details:

A Pro-Matte Revolution: Introducing Infallible Pro-Matte Gloss, our 1st whipped matte gloss. Intense high pigment shades create lasting matte color. Lush velvety texture feels soft for all day comfort. With the pro-sculpt applicator, shape and add dimension to lips.

I really love the applicator. As you can see in the picture, it is angled and is also flexible which is great.  It applies with precision and is really easy to control.

It can be easy to get too much product on the wand so I always wipe away the excess before actually applying on my lips.

I think like many people, I questioned this whole matte gloss thing.  Aren’t they opposites?

I think Loreal was going for something in-between a matte liquid lipstick and a gloss.  Perhaps they wanted something more comfortable that wouldn’t settle into fine lines or dry out your lips.

This starts out with a gorgeous sheen and is very creamy and comfortable.  But as the day wears on, the shine fades away and you are left with a truly matte finish.

Loreal wasn’t specific with how long these should last, but since it’s in the infallible line I guessed it would last at least 6 hours.

Well…I was wrong.

I was able to get about 3 hours before I noticed serious fading in the inner part of my lips.  The color didn’t stand a chance against eating and drinking.

But, thankfully, it is extremely easy to re-apply and didn’t cake up or feel uncomfortable at all.

Now, since this isn’t a liquid lipstick and is more creamy in consistency, it WILL transfer so beware of that!

This does have a slight perfumy scent to it which I don’t love, but thankfully, it subsides quickly.

Final Verdict:

I seriously thought I would hate this, but I really LOVE it!

I think it’s the best compromise between a liquid lipstick and a regular gloss.

You get the comfort and pigmentation without the dryness.  The only thing you sacrifice is longevity and transfer resistance.

I will definitely be purchasing more shades!

What are your thoughts?  Have you tried this out?  Let me know!

Wishing you a beautiful and wonderful day!

xoxo Lizzie♥

I got mine as well and I love it! I also recently tried the Vivid Matte from Maybelline and it is very good, and at least the color that I have has a wonderful long lasting stain. Did you feel the tingle when applying this? It was so weird and funky but it made me giggle. Overall great product and I LOVE it.

    1. I’ve heard other people complain about the tingling sensation as well but I didn’t notice that (and I have really sensitive skin!)
Now I really want to get other shades and see if they are like that!

If you want to see the swatch, I put it in my youtube haul video from this week JIC. But I am waiting for my store to get more because I wanted a nude one.

      4. I will check out your video! I didn’t know they had nude shades. My local stores are always out of them! Are they long wearing on you?
