ELF Long-Lasting Lustrous Eyeshadow in Soiree

Good morning beauties!!

Today’s review is on an ELF eyeshadow product.

I love that ELF (eyes lips face)  is more affordable  (and also sold at CVS and Target!) but the quality on most of their products is outstanding and far surpasses the low price point.

I recently found this product at my local CVS and just had to pick it up!

Price:

$3

Details:

Soft and fluffy, these vibrant, shimmering Long Lasting Lustrous Eyeshadow colors can be used as eyeshadow or a bold liner. The whipped gel texture is easy to blend and lightweight for lasting comfort and wear. Perfect for highlighting the brow bone and adding extra shimmer for a truly glam look.
Available in 7 different colors.

These are soft and creamy shadows that have a mousse-like consistency that is incredibly lightweight.
They pack A LOT of sparkle so if you hate that….stay away from these!

Because of the formula, I had much more success using my fingers than a brush.  The brush wasn’t able to pick up enough product.  I think the warmth from your fingertips really helps warm up the product and make it much easier to work with as well.
Because it can be slightly difficult to work with, I suggest starting with a small amount of product and then building up the color as you go.
The shadow lasted pretty well throughout the day but I did notice some creasing around hour 4/5.
I feel that this product contains more shimmer than pigment.  It takes quite a few layers to build up some color on my lids.  This product was gorgeous for Christmas and New Year’s looks because of the shimmer.
But is it still wearable now that the holidays are over?
I can still use this during the rest of the year, as long as I place another cream shadow as a base and then use the ELF shadow to give a beautiful shimmery finish that really brightens my eye look.
I would highly recommend using a good eye primer before you apply this product.
What are my overall thoughts?
It’s not a bad product, but is definitely not my favorite.  I will finish up this pot, but won’t be repurchasing.
Have you guys tried this out?  What did you think?
Have a beautiful and wonderful day!
xoxo Lizzie♥

  1. I have this in the shade toast and it is the most gorgeous golden shade! These are not like the smudge pots and don’t fully set on the eyes so I like to apply it to my inner corners when I’m doing a dark smokey eye 🙂 great post!!

    1. I will check that shade out! There were only two shades in the store and they were both darker colors.
