Today’s review is a quick and “mini” review on an Hourglass sample I recently received.
I was able to get 2 uses out of this sample so I will do my best to describe my “first impression” with this product!
Available in 16 shades.
My sample was in the shade “nude” (medium light with yellow to nude undertones)
What it is:
A breakthrough liquid-to-powder foundation formula that absorbs oil, camouflages imperfections, and delivers a long-lasting, velvet-matte finish.
What it does:
This high-tech foundation incorporates cashmere kaolinite clay, which offers exceptional oil absorption—absorbing 75 percent of its weight in sebum while retaining the skin’s natural moisture. The oil-free, humidity-proof, and water-resistant formula transforms instantly from liquid to powder creating an all-day finish that camouflages imperfections and never looks dull or flat. Immaculate’s superfine treated pigments provide unsurpassed coverage without looking cakey or mask-like, and effectively eliminate the need for powder, blotting, or constant touch-ups throughout the day.
First thing’s first….this foundation (since a sample) was slightly light on me. I was able to deepen it up with bronzer, but it was definitely not a perfect match.
I’m not knocking off any points for this though!
This is pleasantly surprised by how lightweight and comfortable this foundation was. I wasn’t expecting to feel almost undetectable on my skin.
It didn’t make me look cakey or too overly matte which was nice and I also didn’t feel it needed to be set with a powder.
It also does a great job of absorbing oil which is great for my combination skin.
Now, because this is so matte, it did emphasize dry patches, fine lines and pores. The use of a really great primer helped with this, but it’s something to keep in mind.
It also started breaking down around hour 6-7 and looked a bit patchy on me. Again, with the use of a good primer, this could be avoided.
Overall, I didn’t hate this foundation, but it didn’t stand out to me either.
I think there are better foundations that are less expensive.
Have you tried this out? What were your thoughts?
Wishing you a beautiful and wonderful day!
