I’m quickly discovering more and more Hourglass products and I’m pretty crazy about them!
Yes, they are on the expensive side, but they are amazing quality (at least what I’ve tried) and work extremely well.
I received a sample of their mineral primer a few months ago and was quite pleased with the results.
So I decided to splurge and purchase the full size!
This is available in 3 sizes:
- 0.33 oz $18
- 1 oz $52
- 2 oz $72
I purchased the 1 oz bottle for $52.
What it is:
A mineral-based, water-resistant primer that neutralizes the skin, minimizes shine, and creates a smooth, uniform canvas for flawless makeup application.
What it does:
This clean, satin-finish formula helps keep makeup looking fresh and prevents fading. Veil Mineral Primer also absorbs excess oils and minimizes the appearance of pores by evenly distributing light to help hide and soften the look of skin imperfections and fine lines.
What it is formulated WITHOUT:
What else you need to know:
This water-resistant primer is also 100 percent free of fragrance, oil, and gluten.
Let me start by saying this. I discovered a “right” and “wrong” way of using this product (At least for me).
I had much better results when I let this primer set into my skin before applying makeup (this is probably a given but just thought I would mention it anyway).
When I applied makeup before the primer had dried, my makeup just sat on top of the primer all day and never settled. That was a really gross feeling.
So I allow the primer to set in for a few minutes before applying any makeup.
I love that this primer is water resistant and is also fragrance and oil free. This is really amazing for those with sensitive skin.
This is silicone based so it has that slip to it. I’ve noticed I need very little product because of this fact. It also has a thinner formula.
I have combination skin so I need some oil control in my t-zone but could also use some help with fine lines and pores.
I love that this primer does all of that!
I love that it helps to control oil and shine and keeps me pretty matte (but not flat) throughout the day.
It also does a great job at minimizing my fine lines and providing a barrier between my pores (and dry spots) and my makeup.
This also does a fantastic job of locking in my makeup so that it still looks airbrushed and pretty perfect by the end of the evening.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE this primer!
I’ve never been a big believer in primers because I didn’t see a need for them….until this Winter.
My skin has been more dry and difficult than ever before.
I have way more dry patches and it makes my foundation look like a hot mess (even though I exfoliate)!
That’s where this primer has saved me!
It creates that perfect barrier so my skin looks flawless and my makeup stays put all day.
Yes, it is expensive!
But since I use so little of it, I know one bottle will last me a very long time!
Have you guys tried this primer before? How did it work for you?
Have a beautiful and wonderful day!
