Who else has fallen in love with Becca highlighters?? My hands are raised so high right now!!
They absolutely blew my mind. Now…I’m not crazy about the price ($38!! YIKES!!) but I cannot deny that they are one of the best highlighter formulas I’ve ever tried.
When Becca came out with a new foundation I knew I had to try it!
$42 for 1.35 oz/40 ml
Available in 20 shades.
I purchased mine in “Buttercup.”
What it is:
A creamy, medium coverage foundation controls shine throughout the day and leaves an exceptionally smooth, matte finish.
What it does:
This long-wearing medium coverage foundation features a unique microfine powder that absorbs oil so your complexion remains fresh and shine free throughout the day. Created for combination to oily skin, this foundation minimizes the appearance of pores and fine lines, and creates a lasting soft-focus effect.
What else you need to know:
This product has been dermatologist tested and is formulated without oil, alcohol, and fragrance.
I have combination skin (oily t-zone and dry/normal everywhere else) and also have sensitive skin.
I have medium skin tone with warm undertones.
I will leave a link here with all my foundation shade comparisons in case you’re curious or have a similar skin tone: SHADE COMPARISONS
Right off the bat, this seemed to be the perfect foundation for my skin type. I look for foundations that offer medium coverage, a matte finish and help combat oil and shine.
Plus, the fact that this is formulated without oil, alcohol or added fragrance is an added bonus!
My first impression? This is a really thick foundation. I had a little trouble squeezing the product out. I also noticed the product easily separates so you need to shake it well before use.
I opted to apply this with a sponge since it is so thick. It was somewhat difficult to apply and took awhile to blend out.
Right away I noticed it was accentuating every dry patch and bump on my face. 😦
I used a moisturizing primer the next time I used this and it worked out much better. The foundation went no more smoothly and evenly and didn’t accentuate as many bumps or dry patches.
I figured since this is a thicker formula, it would offer amazing coverage. But, it seemed to thin out and I didn’t get as much coverage as I would have liked.
The downside? It didn’t even remotely keep me shine or oil free, even when using a mattifying primer. Wasn’t that the whole point of this foundation?
I really wanted to love this foundation. The fact that it is oil free and is unscented meant it would be perfect for my sensitive skin. It was so comfortable and lightweight on my skin was so lovely!
But it just did not wear well and looked terrible on me. 😦
Yes, it was matte, but (even with a moisturizing primer) was just TOO matte for me.
It also didn’t stay matte as my oil and shininess came out to play after a few short hours.
It also settled into every fine line, pore and dry spot on my face.
This just did not work for me.
Does anyone else have experience with this foundation? I would love to hear your thoughts!
Wishing you a beautiful and wonderful day!
